Toll Brothers, America’s leading builder of luxury homes seeks an Architectural Designer for our office located in Irvine, California.

 

What is the opportunity?

Production designer. Produces new product based on creative direction. Conducts schematic design review meetings with in-house design team and revises per requests. Creates option lists, designs and rules. Creates design handoff package. Must be competent in all aspects of wood construction and documentation and be able to program, layout and present marketable residential products.  Essential skill sets include adaptability, flexibility, creativity, spatial vision, graphic dexterity and inter- and intra-departmental collaboration.

What are the primary responsibilities?

  • Design New Architectural Products
    • Accountable for:
      • Quality of assigned projects
      • Meeting established timelines and budgets
      • Plan review and input of proposed product VE efforts
      • Using AutoCAD software and manual drawing techniques to produce architectural plans for management and client approval
      • Conducting schematic design reviews with in-house design team and revising designs as requested
      • Regular collaboration with counterparts with in-house design team
    • Responsible for:
      • Design production of new architectural product
      • Conducting schematic design reviews with in-house design team and revising designs as requested
      • Requesting all appropriate approvals
      • Creating option lists, designs and notating any required rules/restrictions
      • Compiling required deliverables and conducting project kick-off meetings with project stakeholders
      • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
      • Collaborating with in-house design team
    • Consults on:
      • Buyer trends and Division specific market needs
      • Appearance of team deliverables
      • Creating and governing design standards and procedures, budgets and timelines
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to serve as a champion of the company’s values, mission and vision and provide leadership to product design team members throughout the region
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Do you have these qualifications?

  • Essential:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
    • 4 + years of progressive residential design experience
    • Strong creative design and time management skills
    • Excellent technical skills, particularly with AutoCAD software
    • Experience with Photoshop and SketchUp
    • Ability to travel as needed (not mandatory)
  • Preferred:
    • Architectural artistic or other creative background

The salary for this position is $68,000-$89,000.
